On a somber Thursday evening, the Foursquare Gospel Church, Apata Zonal Headquarters, Ibadan was filled with congregation who gathered to bid farewell to a life well-lived.

The occasion was the wake keep ceremony for Pa Samuel Olasanmi Owosibo, who was born on the 13th July, 1938, and departed from this world on the 26th October, 2023, at the age of 85.

As at 4 pm, friends, family, and community members filled the venue, sharing stories that gave a vivid portrait of Pa Owosibo's remarkable journey.

The atmosphere was heavy with a mix of sorrow and gratitude as memories, accomplishments of Pa Owosibo's were shared by nominated ministers, nominated church members and colleagues from Sketch Publishing Company/Nigerian Railways Corporation. Family members, Egbatedo Landlords, Community members likewise the Children and Grandchildren also gave testimonies about Pa Owosibo.

The choir ministered in songs followed by the pastor who with a heavy heart gave a short exhortation and then led the congregation in prayers and reflections, emphasizing the enduring impact Pa Owosibo had on those around him. Hymns were sang which carried the essence of reflections, hope and a life rooted in faith and love.

As the ceremony drew to a close, attendees filed past the casket, paying their last respects to a man who had left an indelible mark on their lives. The church bells tolled softly with a closing hymn that marked the end of the wake keep but not the end of Pa Samuel Olasanmi Owosibo's legacy.

Though the physical presence of Pa Owosibo was no more, the memories shared that evening served as a testament to a life well-lived and the enduring spirit of a beloved member of the community. The wake keep became a bridge between the past and the future, a moment to remember, reflect, and find solace in the memories of a man who had touched so many lives.
