Police gun down two armed robbers, arrest drug dealers in Delta community

Following a crack­down on criminals across Delta State, Police operatives have gunned down two notorious thieves in Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was revealed by the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Edafe Bright, that the four man robbery gang were said to have re­ported to have snatched two vehicles at Otokuku Community.

It was disclosed that the suspects met their waterloo when the Divisional Patrol team from Otu-Jeremi police station while on stop and search duty along Egbo/ Otokutu road received information that four suspected armed robbers who had ear­lier snatched two vehicles from their victims.

It was disclosed that a gold coloured Toyota Camry with Reg. No. RSH 291 AW and a custom coloured Lexus 350 jeep with Reg. No. WWR 737 KL vehicles stolen by the armed men were abandoned at Otokutu community due to suspected mechanical faults and were escaping in a tricycle.

It was gathered that two of the fleeing suspects were found with fatal wound after an exchange gun battle with the Police.

It was further disclosed by PPRO Edafe that two of the suspects escaped while the injured ones died while receiving treatment in the hospital.

It was further learnt that one Ak47 rifle with breech No. not visible, an empty magazine, a cash sum of N200,000.00 and gold jewel­ries suspected to be stolen were recovered.

During a further comb for fleeing members of the gang, a combined team of police/ vigilante led by DPO Otu-jer­emi Division recovered an­other AK 47 rifle with breach number NK344397 with two magazines and 3 live ammu­nition, Edafe said.

In a related development, the Delta Police Crack squad raided criminal hideout in Ozoro Community where two Drug suspects namely Cyril Enishoke ‘m’ age 20yrs and Oghogho Joseph ‘f’ age 32yrs were arrested and large quantity of substance suspected to be Indian hemp recovered from them.
