The Nigerian Army has arrested two serving soldiers over their alleged involvement in an unauthorized deployment during the wedding ceremony of popular content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, and fellow TikTok personality Jarvis in Lekki, Lagos State.

According to military sources, the arrests were made on Tuesday following intelligence reports that the soldiers participated in an illegal deployment at the celebrity wedding held over the weekend.

A senior military source told SaharaReporters that the personnel were apprehended on Tuesday morning as the Army commenced investigations into the incident.

The arrested soldiers were identified as Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa (Service Number: 23NA/85/10007) and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi (Service Number: 23NA/85/7885), both attached to the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH), Obalende, Lagos.

"Following credible intelligence on the involvement of Nigerian Army personnel in an illegal deployment during the wedding of popular social media influencer Peller in Lekki, Lagos, the Group arrested Private Onasanya Ifeoluwa of the 81 Division Medical Services and Hospital (81DMSH) and Private Ukpai Onyinyechi of the same unit this morning," the military source said.

The source added that preliminary investigations are underway to determine the extent of the soldiers' involvement and identify any other personnel who may have participated in the unauthorized assignment.

"The investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, and further details will be communicated as the inquiry progresses," the source added.

The arrests followed the circulation of videos from the high-profile wedding showing uniformed military personnel providing security at the event.

One of the viral clips reportedly showed a soldier escorting TikTok personality Ivanna through the crowded venue, appearing to act as a personal bodyguard or bouncer.

The footage sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians questioning why serving military personnel were allegedly deployed to provide security at a private ceremony involving social media influencers and celebrities.
