JUST IN: Senate votes against Lauretta Onochie as INEC commissioner

Tuesday- 13th July, 2021: The Senate has rejected the confirmation of Lauretta Onochie as a National Commissioner of the INEC.
Kabiru Gaya, Chairman of the Committee, in his report on Tuesday said Onochie did not satisfy the provisions of the Federal Character Principles.
The Senate at the committee of the whole subsequently voted against her nomination.
