Tuesday 22nd June, 2021: As the ongoing Euro 2020 group stage is coming to an end, Spanish team are bracing up for a test of nerve in their last group game against Slovakia on Wednesday.

The Luis Enrique’s side is in dire need of victory to guarantee their place qualification from the group stage and a place in the last 16.

Many European giants have secured their spot in round 16, the likes of Italy, Wales, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, and many more.

After leaving out the captain of the squad, Captain Sergio Ramos, Luis Enrique is now left with questions bordering on lack of a points man leader for the youthful squad.

A bright start against Sweden fizzled out in the second half while a missed penalty against Poland turned a brilliant display of a hitherto promising team to a game ending with anxiety and tension.

As a result of tension and anxiety on whether Enrique’s side would qualify for the round of 16, Chelsea’s Captain Cesar Azpilicueta has come out stoutly defending the Spaniard, at the same time to boost the morale of his teammate toward their last group stage game against Slovakia.

Azpilicueta said “it should be known that this country has won the Euro and the World cup but, in this squad there are many youngsters, there are several captains in our team as well, we know how to act and everyone is going to give their all on Wednesday.”

Azpilicueta said, Spain can draw inspiration from Chelsea’s triumph in the Champions League last season.

Recall that he lifted Chelsea’s second European Cup after the team changed gear under new coach Thomas Tuchel, a superb finish culminating in a surprise victory over Manchester City in the final.

Spain was unable to win their two previous campaigns, which ended in draw. But their fates lie on the final match that will takes place tomorrow.
