Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on residents to support his re-election bid and that of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, describing himself as a street-smart leader with a strong understanding of the needs of the people.
The governor made the appeal on Tuesday during a reception held in his honour in Isoko, where he reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Delta State, insisting that the state remained his only home.
Oborevwori said his close relationship with the people and familiarity with their challenges positioned him to understand their expectations and deliver more development across the state.
He maintained that his administration had more work to do, urging residents to continue demanding improved performance while recognising the progress recorded over the last three years.
“I have instruments to campaign, I have work to do. If you talk about street credibility, street wisdom, street-smart, it's only somebody that is street-smart that can do this for you because I live with you here. I don't have a second home; the only home that I have is Delta State. I stay here more,” he said.
The governor further assured residents that his administration would sustain its development drive, noting that there was always room for improvement regardless of the achievements already recorded.
According to him, continued support and encouragement from the people would enable his government to consolidate its achievements and deliver more dividends of democracy.
He said, “The largest room in the world is the room for improvement, and with your continuous support and encouragement, we shall continue to do more while consolidating the achievements of the last three years of our administration.”
Oborevwori subsequently urged Deltans to translate their support into massive votes for President Tinubu, himself and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
“Turn this adjustment into a massive vote for President Tinubu, myself, and all APC candidates in Delta State. Continue to trust us and pray for us,” he appealed.
