A 26-year-old Ghanaian lawyer, Sarah Araba Tettey, has reportedly died after collapsing while celebrating Ghana's victory over Panama at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

According to Ghanaian media outlet Citi Newsroom, the incident occurred on Wednesday at Standard Hostel, a private accommodation facility in Bomso, near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Tettey, a graduate of KNUST's Faculty of Law, was said to have been watching the match with friends when she suddenly collapsed during the post-match celebrations.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel made efforts to revive her. However, she was later pronounced dead.

Reports indicate that Tettey was called to the Ghana Bar earlier this year and was practising law with O & A Legal Consult.

News of her death has triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, with friends, colleagues, and former classmates paying tribute to her and mourning the loss of a promising young legal professional.

As of the time of this report, neither her family nor medical authorities had issued an official statement regarding the circumstances surrounding her death. Her body has reportedly been deposited in a mortuary pending further arrangements.

The exact cause of death remains unknown, as no official confirmation has been provided by her family or medical officials.
