Security operatives have arrested a suspected bandit identified online as Sule Yellow, who recently gained attention on the social media platform TikTok for allegedly displaying kidnapping activities and ransom money during livestreams.
Sule Yellow drew widespread public attention after appearing in a TikTok livestream that went viral on March 4. In the video, he appeared alongside another suspected bandit identified as Auta and several other members of their gang. During the broadcast, the group allegedly discussed their operations and boasted about carrying out kidnappings.
A separate video currently circulating on X shows Sule Yellow in handcuffs while surrounded by soldiers who were questioning him about weapons reportedly belonging to the group.
The footage also shows security personnel displaying a polythene bag believed to contain ransom money allegedly recovered from a recent kidnapping linked to the gang.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement detailing the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s arrest.
The arrest comes amid ongoing military operations targeting bandit groups responsible for attacks on communities and kidnapping victims for ransom across parts of the country.
Meanwhile, the police command in Ondo State on Monday announced the arrest of four individuals accused of supplying logistics to kidnappers.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspects have made “useful confessional statements” that are currently aiding ongoing investigations.
