The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong has announced the inclusion of members of the Northern-based entertainment industry, popularly known as Kannywood into the PCC.
This was disclosed in a statement by Lalong’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Makut Macham, on Tuesday.
Lalong said that the move is part of the council’s efforts to deepen the participation of creative artistes from northern Nigeria into the campaigns.
The statement read in part; “Tinubu had promised to ensure that they are given an opportunity to be part of the campaigns and also showcase their talents towards actualising his dream of becoming the president of Nigeria.”
The Kannywood group has Abdul Amart as Director, Ismail Afakallah as Deputy Director and Sani Mu’azu as Secretary, with other leaders heading different divisions.
This comes barely 24 hours after the Northern rice farmers associations and pastoralists from Miyetti Allah endorsed Tinubu.
The Plateau Governor urged the actors and entertainers to influence their large fan base with appeals and goodwill to sell the candidature of Tinubu and his manifesto.
