The Upper house of the Russian parliament has approved Moscow’s annexation of Ukrainian regions.
The four territories are Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, and Kherson.
According to TASS, the Federation Council voted unanimously to pass a bill incorporating the regions.
The documents have been sent to Kremlin for President Vladimir Putin's final signature to formally annex the four regions, representing around 18 percent of Ukraine's internationally recognised territory.
The State Duma already passed laws that cover the territories’ full integration into Russia and provides for a transitional period until 2026.
Meanwhile, the annexation has been condemned by Western Countries, with many accusing Russia of violating International Laws.
