NANS Protest: Police take over third mainland bridge

The Lagos State Police Command, has deployed officers to guard the Third Mainland Bridge, to stop the said protest of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) over the ongoing strike.
The Men of the force were led by, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Adeniji Adele, CPS Lanre Edegbai to watch both ends of the bridge.
The Police Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin in a tweet on Wednesday said;
“We will not allow any person or group of persons deprive Lagosians of their Right to Freedom of Movement.
“Everyone’s rights must be respected!,’’
The Police deployment comes as NANS had reportedly threatened to shut down the bridge.
CEOAFRICA had reported on Monday, that  NANS had shut down the road leading to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, and also promised to shut down the Third mainland bridge and Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)
