The National Industrial Court has adjourned the suit filed by the Federal Government, challenging the ongoing strike by the University lecturers to September 19th.
CEOAFRICA had reported that the Court had summoned the Federal Government and the Academic Union of Universities (ASUU) to appear on Monday Sept 12th in Abuja over the Seven month strike but the presiding Judge Justice Polycap Hamman had adjourned the case till Friday Sept. 16th to enable both parties to file and submit necessary and relevant documents for the suit.
However at the Court sitting on Friday the Court adjourned the case again till Monday sept 19th.
The FG’s counsel James Igwe  during the sitting pleaded with the Court to give the case haste hearing  as the case is a matter of urgency to enable the student to resume.
Igwe also added that in as much as the case is in Court the ongoing strike should be called off pending the Judgement of the suit.
