The Federal High Court in Osogbo has ordered the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) to stop its preparation and not conduct Local Government Elections.
Recall that OSIEC on August 15th, 2022, announced plans to conduct  Local Government Election in the State on Oct. 15, 2022, with claims that the poll was in accordance with the newly signed OSIEC law.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State charged the Commission to Court and announced plans to boycott the Council poll if OSIEC did not change its mind about conducting the Election.
The Party also claimed that it was needless for the Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led Government to conduct the Election.
CEOAFRICA had reported that OSIEC had commenced training for its ad-hoc staff against the Oct.15th Local Government Election.
