Osun Police parades Ife Modakeke Murder Suspects

Monday 11th Oct. 2021The Osun  State Police Command has arrested and paraded two Suspects linked to the Ife/Modakeke land disputes killings in the State.
The Osun  State Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale T. Olokede  made this known to the press at the State Command in Osogbo the State Capital while listing the achievements made by the State Command, under his leadership  till date.
He  said the briefing  was a medium for the police and the press to interact on the successes recorded  by the Command promising that the command will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the state is free from all kinds of criminal elements..
Some of the notable achievements mentioned by the Police boss includes; 
The arrest of Murder Suspects involved in   Ife/Modakeke clashes between 11/05/2021 and 20/08/2021.
The arrested Suspects are : - (I) Akingbala Olakule ‘M’ A.K.A All Stand,  Owoniyi Segun ‘M’ A.K.A Agbede, Daramola Muideen ‘M’ A.K.A Ede,  Shina Adeyemi ‘M’, Awotinde Elijah ‘M’.


They were arrested with Exhibits such as: - One Double  Barrel Gun, Five Live Cartridges, One Knife, One UTC Cutlass and One Axe.
The Suspects were arrested for  killing two people on their farmlands during Land disputes between the two communities.


 “The unwarranted and barbaric murder provoked the Modakeke indigenes and  decided to take revenge on the Ifes, their efforts were thwarted by the prompt intervention of the Police and other sister agencies. This ugly incident made the Police to swiftly swung into action that led to the arrest of five key suspects as highlighted above”.
 The Police boss noted that some other suspects were arrested by the Police and are undergoing investigation to ascertain the degree of their involvement in the case adding that adequate security measures have been placed by the Police to ensure this act of lawlessness is put under control.  

The Recovery of Suspected Stolen HONDA CIVIC vehicle with  Chasis NO: 2HGFA16298H92102 On 6th September, 2021 by the surveillance patrol team while on routine patrol along Sekona/Ife express road sighted one Honda Civic, white colour with the occupants, quickly jumped out of the car and ran inside the bush on sighting the Police patrol vehicle.

The arrest of  two Suspects for  Shop breaking,Stealing, Suspected Murder and Cultism.
The arresred Suspects : -  Saheed Lukman ‘M’  32 and Adeolu Adeniyi ‘M’  35 have confessed to be a member of Eiye Confratanity. 
One empty AK47 ammunition shell, an empty cartridge , one Nigeria Army I.D card and other incriminating items were recovered  in the course of searching the house of the suspects.
They are also suspected to have killed one man whose identity is unknown but suspected to be a rival cult group member.

The arrest of  one Adeshina Olaide ‘M’ 30 Suspected to have stolen a Generator Set belonging to one Adesokan Kehinde ‘m’ of Owoeye Street, who identified the suspect as his former staff. 
Police surveillance patrol team while patrolling along Ayetoro area, Osogbo, accosted the suspect On 18th September, 2021 ,  carrying a generator.
He confessed  during interrogation  to have stolen the generator from a shop.
The arrest of two Suspects Akinlabi Toyese ‘M’ 27, Nurudeen Azeez ‘M’ 35 with a locally made Revolver pistol On 26th August, 2021  at Iwo Grammar school area, Iwo for Armed Robbery.
The two suspects armed with a pistol blocked  one Abdulafeez Soliu Ishaq ‘m’ with motorcycle and robbed him of a bag containing (1) International Passport (2) one POS machine (3) Phone accessories, all valued at about #570,000.00. When they were given a hot chase by the members of vigilante and were arrested.
 The  suspects were charged to court and remanded at Ilesha Correctional facility.

  The Commissioner concluded by assuring members of the public of safety, adequate protection and also warning the general public to be wary of these youths with bags sling across their neck as so many dangerous things are contained therein urging that Effective patrol, information and stop and search, with visibility of Police at strategic junctions has not only assisted in checkmating occurrence of crimes and criminalities, but also detecting and arrest of culprits.
