The National Action Committee on the African Continent Free Trade Area (AFCTA), has urged Kano business community to use opportunities provided by the federal government to exploit African markets.

Lead expert trade enablement National Action Committee on AFCFTA, Mr. Olusegun Olotayo, made the disclosure yesterday at a one-day sensitisation tour in Kano.

Olotayo explained that for business and investment to flourish in African continent, business communities have to look inward by working with the National Action Committee (NAC) in order to exploit African markets.

He added that all the products being produced in the African continent may be rejected out rightly in Europe or America, on account of quality and standard.

But, with AFCFTA creating a lee way for export, there is compelling need for local manufactures and producers to rely on Africa.

The lead expert said that the continent is poised to benefit from trade and investment within the region, if available resource were properly utilised.

“The revenue accruing to the federal government on annual bases would never surpass the profits to be extracted from AFCFTA.

“The federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari has put in effort to see that our local products are flourishing not only in Nigeria but, in the entire African continent,” he added.
