FRIDAY- 13th August, 2021: In preparation for the 40th Anniversary Celebration and Annual National Scientific Conference, the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) executives, on Thursday 12th August paid a historic visit to His Royal Majesty Oba (Dr). Hameed Adekunle Makama, Tegbosun III, Olowu of Owu Kuta.
ACPN National Chairman, Dr. Samuel O. Adekola DSA MAW who led other executive to the palace described the visit as a formal recognition to the royal father and to formally inform the monarch of the association’s intent to present a meritorious award to His Royal Majesty Oba Dr Hameed Adekunle Makama, Tegbosun III Olowu of Owu Kuta.

His Royal Highness in his response appreciated the executive of ACPN for the visit, he described the community pharmacists as reputable stakeholders in the country that are highly respected because of their impacts in our society.
He accepted to honour their invitation and pledged to work with the association in all ramifications.

The Monarch noted that though he has been opportune to receive numerous awards but he considered the ACPN as important and second to none as a result of the ACPN reputation nationwide.
His Royal Highness noted that he is looking forward to ways which he can contribute immensely to the association long before the courtesy visit which he described as God chosen moment.

Highlight of the visit was the National Chairman of ACPN, Dr. Samuel O.Adekola DSA MAW presentation of the 40th Anniversary souvenir to His Royal Majesty. Adekola further stated that as part of the association mandates to place Community Pharmacy practice in an enviable position in the health delivery system in Nigeria, the association primary aim is to bring the profession closer to the grassroot.

Craig Segun Adedipe, Consultant to ACPN.
