BREAKING: Senators move to vote on e-transmission of election results

Thursday- 15th July, 2021: Nigerian Senators are set to vote on the mode of transmission of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission on election day.
The Senate Committee on the matter had, in the report, recommended in Section 52(3) that, INEC “may transmit results of elections by electronic means where and when practicable.”
Senator Sabi Abdullahi said INEC “may consider electronic collation of results provided the national network coverage is adjudged to be adequate and secured by Nigeria Communications Commission and approved by the National Assembly.”
