Friday- 9th July, 2021: The Emeritus Archbishop, Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan, Most Rev. Felix Alaba Job, has urged Nigerians not to forget her values, stressing that Nigerians should not see themselves as a people but they should see themselves as agents of the state.

The archbishop made this known on Saturday, at the reception of his 50th Episcopal ordination anniversary which was held at Pope John II Hall, Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel, University of Ibadan.

His Grace, Alaba Job encouraged fellow Nigerians to go back to the time when we really appreciated nature, urging them to shun tribalism and answer the call of their vocations and positions.

In an interview with CEOAFRICA, the cleric recalled the Christmas message that he gave. in the message, the Archbishop disclosed that he admonished Nigerians to change their ways so that our children should be able to know what is right or wrong.

He said, “In 1984, I gave a Christmas message that if we continue the way we are going, soon, our children will not know the difference between what is right and what is wrong and it is unfortunately happening now.”

“I go to work not because I am paid, I am not paid. It is because God has called me into this position and I have been doing it with all my strength and energy and that’s what makes me happy.

“Let us go back to the times when we really appreciate nature. When we appreciate ourselves and we bring to bear in our actions what increases our worth, the values; our moral, social and mental values.

“Today, it seems we’re forgetting all about that but we should not because that is what God created us for.”

Speaking further, he encouraged Nigerians to be hardworking and resilient.

“Put your heart and mind to work. Nothing goes for noting. There is no free lunch in Freetown,” he said.
