Thursday 8th July, 2021: Despite England securing the final ticket of the ongoing Euro 2020 ahead of the hard fighting Denmark Wednesday night, sports analysts have continued to pick holes in the center referee’s decision to award England the dying minutes penalty which eventually gave them the lead over Denmark and landed them in the finals of the Euro 2020

The development has made the encounter a semi-final of crisis as observers concluded seen England in the finals.

Manchester City and England attacker, Raheem Sterling, dashed through Denmark’s defence in extra time and went down in the box after what appeared to be a minimal contact.

But the referees still pointed to the spot and although Leicester City and Denmark stopper, Kasper Schmeichel, saved Kane’s penalty, the England captain buried the rebound to send the Three Lions to the final with a 2-1 win.

Observers see the penalty as an absolute disgrace to the football federation with there believes that the contact does not deserve or warrant a sport kick.

On the other hand, many still viewed it from another angle as some believed that the match officials should have halted the game, moments before Raheem Sterling won the penalty, because a second ball was spotted on the pitch before the penalty incidence. Whenever two balls appeared on the pitch, according to FIFA rules, game must be halted.

Though, the overall decision on the pitch lies with the officiating referees which at the end of the game, England won the match but Denmark won peoples heart.

Meanwhile, Tottenham and England striker, Harry Kane equals Gary Lineker’s record of highest goal scorer for the combined England goals at European Championships and World Cups, with the Wednesday’s penalty

With all said and done, the three lions will now face Italy in the finals of the Euro 2020.
