Saturday, 26th June 2021: The Czech Republic had to postpone their flight for the Euro 2020 game against the Netherlands because the emergency chute accidentally inflated and blocked the plane.

The squad was on the plane and all ready to take off for the Round of 16 fixture in Budapest.

However, player Alex Kral revealed what happened with a photograph on his Instagram Stories and Twitter of the view from outside the plane window.

The emergency escape chute accidentally inflated itself, meaning they could not close the doors or take off.

Kral wrote that he had experienced flight delays due to all sorts of things, including COVID, but this was the first time he was prevented from flying due to an accidentally inflated slide.

The entire Czech squad had to disembark and take a later plane, so they won’t be able to arrive in Budapest until it is too late to have a training session on the pitch of the Puskas Arena.
