Thursday, 20 May 2021: Nigerians on Social media has reacted to the recommendation of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum to place petrol price between N408.5 and N380 per litre.

Recall that the NGF in a virtual meeting, called for the immediate removal of fuel subsidy.

On their various social media handles, Nigerians express their grievances on the effect of fuel subsidy removal.

Samuel Chuks tweeted, “N380/litre for fuel. This is bad.”

A user with the handle @PastorBOJ expressed shock over the decision.

“I’m shocked by the fuel pump prices they recommended. This shows that people aren’t in their agenda!” the user exclaimed.

Advising the government, Idris Tanda tweeted, “Reduce the cost of running the government. Reduce all the unnecessary allowances of political office holders and you will see things becoming right.”

Nas09k pointed out, “405.5 per litre will just make some people commit a suicide.”

“N380, we are in big trouble,” Barnabas Cyrus tweeted.

@Echi_di_ime tweeted, “The people we voted for as governors sat down and recommended N408 per litre for petrol. Many of their supporters will still find reasons to support whatever they say, these guys are our main problem.”

According to @bigone00125, the NGF could make such decisions as the governors do not buy fuel.

@MbadiegwuK pointed out, “You increase it (fuel) and still some states won’t be able to pay minimum wage while some states will still sack workers.”
