Chrisland University students score 100% in ICAN /ASTWA Exams

Accounting Students of Chrisland University set a groundbreaking record as they emerged with a 100% pass ratio, full and partial, in the recently released results of the Accounting Technicians Scheme West Africa (ATSWA) examinations organised in collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Chinedum Peace Babalola made this disclosure in an exclusive chat with CEOAFRICA on Friday.

She noted that, this was the first time the University was taking part in the regional examinations.

The VC stated that “majority of the students performed excellently in all the four papers,” adding that “this feat is a testimony to the fact that there is no failure in Chrisland University.”

The universty Don further revealed that more of the accounting students of the citadel of learning are enrolling for the second batch which will be held later in September this year, 2021.

Babalola however commended Dr Adegboyega Afolabi, the Head of Department, Accounting, Banking and Finance, and his team for their unrelenting efforts in bringing out the best from the students.

While congratulating the students on their success, the erudite Professor buttressed that the running of ICAN programme in the university gives opportunity for the department of accounting students to be Chartered Accountants before their graduation.

The Accounting Technicians Scheme West Africa (ATSWA) programme is a regional programme designed to produce middle level Accounting Technicians within the West African sub-region.

The exams take place every year in March and September.
