Officiating priests at the commissioning of ultra -Modern edifice (DOMUS MARIAE)

Worshippers converge for launch of ultra-modern edifice

The parishioners of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Isolo rolled out drums in thanksgiving to God and commendation to the congregation of Oblates of St Joseph, a religious congregation, which is in charge of the parish for helping them to realise their age long dream of ultra –modern edifice in their parish.

"God thank you for this complex, in a special way, we want to thank the Oblates of St Joseph for their great work in St. Mary, may the good Lord bless them amen,"  these were there comments at the commissioning and dedication ceremony of the complex on Sunday October 4, 2015.

The commissioning of the complex also coincided with their Harvest of Thanksgiving.

The foundation stone of the project was laid by the past Archbishop of Lagos: Archbishop Emiritus, Most Rev Olubunmi Okogie, nine years ago.

The complex commissioned by the present Archbishop of Lagos: Most Rev Dr Alfred Martins who was represented by Rt Rev John Aniagwu, who is the Vicar General, Archdiocese of Lagos.

Aniagwu in his remarks at the opening of the complex, commended the entire parishioners for their good work, support and patience all through the period the project lasted. He also added that the complex was the biggest he had seen in the whole of Lagos Archdiocese.

The parish Priest, Rev Fr Ethelbert Arua, OSJ also expressed gratitude to God for seeing the project through and also to the parishioners who contributed towards the project.

His special thanks also went out to the entire Central Working Committee (CWC) members who sacrificed their time and resources to see to the completion of the project.

The central Working Committee Chairman, Mr Chidiebere Ngwoke, who also spoke at the occasion thanks the members of the church and especially members of the civic for working tirelessly and co-operating with him to ensure that the project was completed and commissioned.

The Ultra-modern Complex has a lot of facilities, which include a Chapel, conference room, clinic/laboratory, a consulting room, restaurant, library/IT room, bar, guest rooms and three halls each with a different seating capacity is tastefully furnished with state of the art equipment.

The Complex is also called ‘DOMUS MARIAE’ meaning ‘House of Mary’.

Speaking with CEOAfrica. Some of the parishioners were thankful to God for

keeping them alive to witness the beginning and the end of the complex.
