Belgium Denies Home Eagles Visas Again For Congo, Cameroon Friendlies

The six home-based Super Eagles players and their officials failed to travel to Belgium on Monday as planned as they are yet to receive entry visas into the European country, completesportsnigeria.com can report.

The players and their players were originally scheduled to leave Nigeria on Sunday to join their foreign-based counterparts in camp in preparation for the friendly games against DR Congo and Cameroon.

But they failed to secure visas to Belgium on Friday and were also not successful on Monday.

One of the players who pleaded anonymity informed completesportsnigeria.com that that they were still in Nigeria as at 21.30am Tuesday morning, but are still hopeful the issue will be sorted out so that they can travel later on Tuesday.

“We are yet to get our visas,” he divulged to completesportsnigeria.com.

“We are hoping things will be sorted so that we can travel on Tuesday.”

The Super Eagles will take on Congo Democratic Republic on Thursday in Vise, Liege, before facing perenial rivals Cameroon on Sunday in Dendermonde.
