
The Oblates of St Joseph congregation in Nigeria has celebrated the final and first profession of some of their brothers.
This year's profession coincides with the Silver Jubilee anniversary of the oblates of St Joseph in Nigeria, which the highpoint will be on November 6 and 7, 2015, CEOAfrica has been announced as the official media partner for the events.
The first and final profession of these brothers started with the Holy Mass that was held at the chapel of oblates of St Joseph formation house in Opere, Ibadan, was presided over by Rev Fr Michael Odubela, the superior delegates for the first and final profession were nine reverend brothers, who had their profession of vows.
Four brothers namely; Adedeji Stephen, Onyilimba Charbel, Ordam Simon and Osabohien Luke, observed their rites of first religious profession by accepting to consecrate themselves to the service of God and works of charity.
Relatedly, five other brothers also observed their rites of perpetual profession, thereby acknowledging to serve in God's vineyard forever.
The five of them are; Anthony Teko, Lukpata Clement, Ogar Benjamin, Udoh Emmanuel and Wayas Robert.
In his address, Rev Odubela urged the celebrants to remain steadfast in their faith, stating that it was necessary for them to shun the sinful vices of these modern days and endeavour to be pious at all times.
Brother Anthony Teko, one of the celebrants, while speaking on behalf of others said they were ready to further devote themselves to the service of God and humanity by "continuing to practice the ordinances of Christ."
