Telecommunications operator Orange, Friday launched Africa's first mobile crowd funding platform in Côte d'Ivoire known as Collecte.

Collecte platform will afford private individuals and charities the avenue to finance their personal and charitable projects by making an appeal through their mobile network. Contributors will be able to make their donations using their Orange Money electronic wallet.

The Orange Collecte platform was developed in partnership with HelloAsso; the French leader in crowdfunding.

Orange mobile customers also have the concession of opening the account for free by simply dialling #144*8# on a mobile or going to collecte.orange.com
