THE Oyo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation has lauded the  level of patriotism and objectivity displayed by  the Labour Party in its decision to support and work for the success of President Goodluck Jonathan in the March 28 presidential election.

Describing the decision of the party as progressive, the campaign organisation said Labour Party, with the declaration, had shown commitment to sustaining the unity, peace, oneness and progress of the country.

According to a statement issued in Ibadan by its director, Media and Publicity, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, the campaign organisation was more pleased with the disclosure of LP that the party’s decision was purely on merit.

Announcing the endorsement of President Jonathan as the candidate of the party  at the Premier Hotel, last week, its national chairman, Alhaji Abdulkadir Salam, had disclosed that the party found President Jonathan more suitable, capable, sound and fit to effectively carry out state functions, following an in-depth analysis and consideration of the personalities of the two leading candidates in the race.

The campaign organisation, therefore, enjoined all other well-meaning Nigerians, political and non-political groups to emulate those who have genuine interest of the country at heart by supporting President Jonathan for the complete transformation of the entire sectors and parts of Nigeria.

“We salute the LP national executive council members and the party as a whole for their decision to support President Jonathan and work towards his emergence at the polls.

“The decision is highly commendable and a bold step in the right direction,” Olaosebikan said.
