Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to marry his long-time partner, Georgina Rodriguez, this weekend.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus star is expected to exchange vows with Rodriguez on Saturday, August 8, in Funchal, the capital of Madeira, the Portuguese island where he was born and spent much of his childhood.

Nearly a year after announcing their engagement, the couple have reportedly secured a cathedral in Funchal for the wedding ceremony. They are also said to have booked the luxurious Savoy Palace Hotel for the reception.

According to reports, hotel guests have been informed that two floors of the hotel, along with several bar areas, will be reserved and unavailable to the public on Friday and Saturday to accommodate the private celebration.

Earlier speculation had suggested that Ronaldo and Rodriguez would tie the knot in Sintra, Portugal, on August 1. However, those reports have since been dismissed.

Although neither Ronaldo nor Rodriguez has officially confirmed the wedding details, preparations are reportedly in place for what is expected to be one of the most high-profile celebrity weddings of the year.
