A hotel building under construction, identified as Ugo West Hotel, has collapsed in the Jikwoyi area of Abuja on Friday, leaving several feared trapped beneath the debris.
The incident triggered panic among residents, as community members and passersby rushed to the scene in an attempt to assist with rescue efforts. Eyewitnesses reported that the structure suddenly gave way, burying workers and other individuals at the site.
As of the time of this report, the exact number of those trapped or injured has not been confirmed. Emergency response teams were still being awaited, while local volunteers had begun preliminary rescue operations, working to clear rubble in hopes of reaching survivors.
