The Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) is set to host its Monthly Capacity Building Seminar, with a focus on the theme “The New Tax Law and Its Implications for Community Pharmacy Practice.”

The virtual seminar is scheduled to hold on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 11:00am to 12:30pm, as part of the association’s sustained efforts to strengthen professional competence, regulatory awareness, and business resilience among community pharmacists across the country.

The capacity building initiative is chaired by Pharm. Josephine Ehimen, FPSN, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NETT Pharmacy and Chairman, ACPN Empowerment and Capacity Building Committee. She is expected to lead discussions aimed at empowering pharmacists with practical knowledge needed to navigate emerging fiscal and regulatory changes affecting pharmacy practice.

Delivering the keynote presentation as Guest Speaker is Pharm. (Mrs.) Mojisola Adebusola Aladesanmi, who will provide expert insights into the evolving tax framework and its direct and indirect implications for community pharmacies, particularly in areas of compliance, sustainability, and business operations.

The session will be moderated by Pharm. (Mrs.) Agbomma Esom-Ibe, FPSN, who is expected to guide the discourse, ensuring interactive engagement and practical takeaways for participants.

Speaking ahead of the seminar, the National Chairman of ACPN, Pharm. Ambrose Ezeh Igwekamma, described the monthly capacity building programme as a critical platform for preparing community pharmacists to respond effectively to policy shifts and economic realities.

“Community pharmacy practice does not operate in isolation from national policies and economic reforms,” Ezeh said. “This seminar is designed to help our members clearly understand the new tax law, its implications, and how to remain compliant while sustaining their businesses and professional standards.”

He added that ACPN remains committed to continuous professional development and equipping its members with timely, relevant knowledge that enhances both practice excellence and economic resilience.

“Through these monthly engagements, ACPN is ensuring that community pharmacists are not only clinically competent but also economically informed and strategically positioned to thrive,” he noted.

The seminar is expected to convene community pharmacists, industry professionals, and ACPN members nationwide, fostering informed dialogue on taxation, policy compliance, and best practices for navigating the current operating environment.

ACPN also reiterated that all members are mandated to attend at least one capacity building seminar per quarter, in line with the association’s professional development framework.

The Monthly Capacity Building Seminar continues to serve as a cornerstone of ACPN’s agenda to promote informed practice, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth within Nigeria’s community pharmacy sector.
