Tuesday, 11 May 2021: The shoddy way of handling presidential information in Nigeria’s Presidential Villa came to the fore Monday as two presidential aides contradicted themselves over the robbery attack on the official residence of Prof Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

While the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, confirmed media reports that indeed there was a robbery attack on the residence of Ibrahim Gambari.

Shehu in a statement on his Facebook page confirmed the attack occurred early Monday morning.

“The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there “was a foolish attempt” to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful,” the president’s spokesman said. “Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa, has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.”

cThis comes moments after Bashir Ahmad, Personal assistant to the president on new media described the report as fake news. He was to change his stance latter on his twitter handle.
