The popular technocrat, Mr. TunjiAdeniji, said that no company can threaten the existence of Nipco Plc. in the oil and gas industry.
In an interview with CEOafrica correspondents at his home, the pioneer director and one of the founding fathers of the company, stressed that in ten years to come, Nipco Plc. will be breaking boundary beyond what it is now.
“By the structure we have now, Nipco acquired Mobil which is a foreign company. Having acquired Mobil that has existed for close to 60 years, we have not seen anything fantastic that will not make the existence of the company to surpass what it is now. If a company like Nipco can acquire Mobil”.
While expanding on the founding of the company, the technocrat empathizes on how the company metamorphosed from the cradle of Independent Petroleum Marketing Company Limited to what it is today, NIPCO Plc. after been able to successfully secure a deal, among valiant competitors, worth #1.42billion in the 90s.
The former National Secretary of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, also iterates that the company was able to collaborate with an Indian company, Purebrand Plc., who has contributed to the great heights NIPCO Plc. is proud of today.
The words of Mr. Tunji remains that, NIPCO has weathered the storm of survival tussle in the country and will continue to wax stronger with the stringent philosophy and strength of the management the company runs on.
