The World Health Organisation has warned that the coronavirus pandemic has yet to reach its peak as lockdown measures continue to be relaxed.
Director General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the virus still has not been brought under control ‘in most of the world’ and is actually ‘getting worse’.
His stark message comes as quarantine rules for people returning to or visiting the UK from certain nations are relaxed from Friday.
The Government has published a list of 76 countries and territories from which people arriving into England will no longer need to self-isolate for 14 days.
Restrictions surrounding leisure facilities such as gyms as well as the performing arts and the beauty sector are also set to be eased in England within days.
