The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman Uche Secondus and former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi have lead a protest to the supreme court over its verdict on the Imo governorship election.

Enyinnaya Abaribe, senate minority leader, also led the protest.

The march took off from the PDP’s Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja amid tight security.

The protesters, who are in hundreds, held placards which read: “Save Judiciary”, “Presidency and Judiciary Murder Democracy” and “We say no to Supreme Court judgement in Imo” among others.

Security agents have codoned off the road leading to the supreme court.

Last week, the court sacked Emeka Ihedioha, PDP governorship candidate, and declared Hope Uzodinma, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the last governorship election, as the duly elected governor of Imo state.

Recall that in March 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ihedioha as the winner of the election, but Uzodinma challenged the decision up to the supreme court.
