CP Olukolu promises proactive led policing in Oyo State

As part of the ceaseless efforts to see that crime is brought to its lowest minimum in Oyo State, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olukolu Shina has assured the good people of Oyo State of the command’s resolved on the covert and overt led policing.

CP Olukola gave this assurance while parading 21 suspects, involved in various criminal offences   at the Police Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan on Thursday 18th of April 2019.

The Crime Fighter Commissioner of Police, C.P ShinaOlukolu told journalists that the Nigeria Police force, Oyo State command is resolved to carry out her primary mandate of protecting lives and property through covert and overt led policing in Oyo state.

The commissioner of police further revealed that the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) awarded a certificate of excellence selfless services to the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command for the umpire role the command played during the last general election.

“We are ready to enforce all laws and regulations through intelligence policing and public partnership,” he assured.

The Oyo State command paraded Sims swapping fraudsters who included Omotayo Azeez, OlufadeAbdulgafar, Adesina Peter, Odugbesan Gbenga, Shiyanbola Harry and EffiongUdofia.

Others include, ArowosegbeAdewale, AdesanluKayode, OnasileAbiola, and Temitope Fatai, the only female among them.

Other suspects arrested by the command include one Dannery Mohammed and AbubakarWoru who attacked Abduraheem Abdukareem a money changer, known as Bureau de change, chopped off his hand and dispossessed him of the sum of three million one hundred thousand naira. The incidence occurred along Ayemojuba village via Shaki while returning from the market.

The command also paraded a cult member, Alabede Usmana.k.aJagaban, who was involved in cult clash in Ijokodo.

CP Olukolu said investigations are been intensified to arrest other fleeing members of the cult.

He also felicitated with Christians for the Easter celebration; while urging them to be mindful of their environment and places of worship for security reasons.

“Let me use this opportunity and tell the Christian fold who will very soon be celebrating their Easter, I’m appealing to them to be conscious of their environment, to be conscious of their place of worship so that individuals who are criminally minded will not seize the opportunity to carry out their negative act,” he said.

The Oyo Police boss used the opportunity to call on members of the public to see the police as their friends in the war against crime.

 “It is true that there are challenges but when we work together, I believe that we can always surmount the problem that comes our way, he affirmed.
