The pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere on Wednesday has condemned in entirety the actions of DSS and Policemen who created scenes at the Ekiti Government House.

In a statement signed and made available to CEOAfrica by the National Publicity of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, the group described the violence which was triggered by the police who allegedly sealed off the Government House with teargas as barbaric and uncalled for.

The group also labeled the attack on the Governor as outrageous and cruel that violates all decency.

Afenifere criticized the deployment of over 30,000 police personnel for election in one state while the government cannot mobilize a quarter of same number to secure lives of Nigerians under the savage attacks in different parts of the country.

The group however urged President Muhammadu Buhari to put concerted efforts in ensuring that the country is peaceful and bring perpetrators of this dastardly act to book.

The pan-Yoruba socio-political group admonished security forces to perform their expected duties and desist from violating law abiding citizens.

Afenifere group called on the electoral officials to provide a level playground for all contestants and conduct a free and fair election.

In the same vein, the group appealed to politicians involved in the polls not to do anything that will jeopardize lives of people, claiming that the ancestors will inflict maximum affliction on anybody that put the life of any son of Ekiti in jeopardy for the lust of temporary power.
