The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has arrested 30 people, women and children inclusive, alleged to have engaged in pipeline vandalism in Isheri Olofin area of Ogun State.

CEOAFRICA news desk has gathered that over 20,000 litres of fuel were recovered from the suspects who were arrested on Saturday morning by a combined team of NSCDC officials from Ogun and Lagos State commands.

The Ogun State Commandant, Mr. Akinwande Aboluwoye who revealed this arrest, said the command had promptly acted following an earlier tip-off they got about some vandals who were to operate on Saturday morning.

He said the command were able to apprehend the associates of the vandals who escaped through the water, having engaged them in a gun duel and abandoned the products.

Among the arrested suspects are; a 12-year-old boy, Azeez Ajani; a 13-year-old boy, Michael Oyedotun, two pastors, six women and 20 others.

However, the commandant noted that the suspects would be charged to court, adding that past investigations had shown that women and children were also involved in the illegitimate business.
