NMCN grants Chrisland University full accreditation for Nursing programme

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN ) has approved academic programme of nursing in Chrisland University.

This development was made known by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Peace Babalola during a media chat in the serene Abeokuta campus of the university. According to her, having met the standard of the regulatory body, the council dim it proper to accredit the programme. "Finally, after meeting all the specifications of the council, our faculty of Nursing and Midwifery has been approved by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria." She proudly announced.

In high spirit about this development, the VC dedicated the feat to her team players whom she described as focused and committed to taken the university to the peak of academic glory and excellence. She commended the head of Nursing Department, Prof. Prisca Adejumo who she said worked round the clock, leaving no stone unturned for this noble feat to be accomplished. She further expressed her joy for the unrelenting support and cooperation of the school Chancellor, Board of Trustees, staff, students and parents, who she said are always at hand to gladly give their unflinching supports.

She intimated that Nursing Programme is "fully accredited, and with effect from 2023/2024 academic session, Chrisland University is now at liberty to run full degree in nursing and award certificate accordingly." The VC further assured that Chrisland University Nursing and Midwifery school will soon be globally competitive like the other Chrisland University programmes.

Recall that June, 2022, the Secretary General and Registrar of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Dr Umar Faruk Abubakar (RN, PhD, FWACN) commissioned the Effigy of the School of Nursing. The Nursing School of the University was duly accredited by NUC last year for the nursing programme.
