The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has said President Muhammadu Buhari, will unveil the designed Naira notes on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
Emefiele made the announcement during the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee monthly meeting in Abuja, on Tuesday.
Recall that CEOAFRICA had repported that the CBN Governor had announced in October that the Apex bank will issue redesigned N200, N500 and N1,000 notes, effective December 15, 2022,
However, he has disclosed that CBN won’t wait till December anymore for the unveiling of the new notes.
Emefiele also noted that the deadline for returning the old Naira notes to commercial banks in exchange for newly designed ones will not be extended.
