Best interest for investment is obtained at Chrisland University—Access Bank Chairman

An Honorary Consul of Czech Republic and Chairman, Access Bank PLC, Pharm. (Dr) Ajoritsedere Awosika (MFR), has declared that investment at Chrisland University would yield greater returns than any investment made in the bank and other investment institutions.
The Honorary Consul of Czech Republic, who was speaking at the 4th convocation ceremony of the university on the topic “The Visible and Invisible Hands of Development: Interrogating the Roles of Tertiary Institutions and the Financial Sector in Nigeria” stressed that education is the only sector that drives development in all spheres.
“It’s not in the bank, it is not in the investment houses that you get the best interest. It is here, Chrisland University; invest here and you will get the best interest,” she said.
Meanwhile, the former Permanent Secretary of three federal ministries had earlier explained that education is the major pillar of development, as it gives room for equality and equity, while ensuring greater civic engagement and increased social wellbeing as she urged all to support the sector.
In her address, the vice chancellor of the university, Pharm. (Prof.) Chinedum Peace Babalola, emphasized that the school places uncompromising emphasis on character and ensuring that her products are trained in all respects to arm them with the necessary tools for facing the future.
The Chancellor, High Chief (Dr) Winifred Awosika also thanked Prof. Babalola for accepting the extension of her tenure as the institution’s head, Babalola’s tenure as the vice chancellor had ended barely a week ago.
During the convocation ceremony, Apostle FolorunsoAlakija, the second richest woman in Africa and one of the five richest black women in the world and the paramount ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty Oba AdedotunAremuGbadebo were honoured with honorary doctorates.
Some of the dignitaries at the event include the governor of Ogun state, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun (represented by his Special Assistant on Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa) and his wife, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, the wife of former President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Mrs Obasanjo, Nigeria’s Minister of Education, Mallam AdamuAdamu (represented by Prof. Olusola Kehinde).
The convocation produced nine first class out of 52, and saw the graduation of the first student of English, who also made a first class and was the first beneficiary of the chancellor’sscholarship scheme.
