Man bags 21 years for robbing UNIUYO students

A High Court sitting in Akwa Ibom on Friday sentenced Emmanuel Okon to 21 yrs in prison for robbing University of Uyo (UNIUYO) students.
Okon was arrested after the security agency at the Main Campus of the university laid ambush for him following series of complaints of robbery by the students.
His last victim was a female student, whom he used a knife to dispose her of her Techno phone and money, while returning from lectures on the 9th of April, 2018.
In his confession to the Police, he said he sold the phone to a man at Akamba Nsukara Offot at the rate of six thousand
The presiding Judge, Justice Okon Okon, in his ruling said Okon was guilty of robbery, which is punishable under the Robbery and Firearms Special Provisions Act 2004.
