The Provost, Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Dr Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo, has announced that the school has been named Centre of Excellence in Agribusiness by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Dr Owosibo made this announcement, while addressing the participants on the first day of the ongoing vocational training holding at the citadel of learning, today, Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
The administrator further stated that the college has been organizing such trainings since 1993; the Director, Vocational Centre of the college, Dr O.J. Banjoko also added that the college has such training for both short and long term options.
Recall that the event is being held concurrently with the orientation programme for the new students.
Speaking to the new students, Dr Owosibo stressed that attendance and other requirements are taken seriously in the college, as failure to adhere to such laid down rules could lead to a student’s failure.
He further assured them that no one will intimidate or extort money from them, adding that they should report such cases if they occur.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the orientation committee, Dr Omolara Jemimah Ojedele, who doubles as the Dean, School of Pure and Applied Sciences, also noted that orientation programme helps the student to know about the school, while helping the school know about the students.
The two events are expected to continue tomorrow and Thursday; Heads of Departments, Deans of Colleges, other principal officers of the school, together with the representatives of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development were in attendance.
