Attack on Ifeanyi Ubah barbaric, condemnable- Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah representing Anambra South Senatorial District and his aide.
This was contained in a statement by Buhari’s Spokesman Garba Shehu on Wednesday, where the President described the attack as “barbaric and condemnable”
CEOAFRICA had reported that Senator Ubah and his convoy were attacked by unidentified gunmen on Sunday evening in Enugwu Ukwu community, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen who are suspected to be assassins ambushed the Senator’s convoy and shot sporadically at them, killing some Police Officers and Aides of the Senator, while Ubah narrowly escaped.
Buhari in his statement explained that the attack is being closely monitored by Security Agencies and further details on the response to the situation is expected.
“We are closely monitoring the situation and waiting for further detail on the response to the worrisome situation by the Police, the Military and other Security Agencies.’’
The President prayed for Ubah’s quick recovery, for all those that were injured and also urged for Peace and Security in Anambra State and its environs.
“The Nation has lost four brave Policemen and other Aides of the Senator. On behalf of the Government and the people, I pay homage to these Security men and the Aides who were brutally murdered. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families at this difficult time.’’
