Chrisland University, reputed for steady academic growth and accomplishment has again cut an edge as delegates of the Council of Legal Education visited for resource verification for its law programme.

The delegate who visited on 20th July, 2022, was led by the Director General of Council of Legal Education, Prof. Isa Hayatu Chiroma.

Speaking with the Vice Chancellor of Chrisland University, Prof. Peace Babalola, she revealed that the delegates from the Council of Legal Education have simply come to do their statutory duty of oversight function to ensure that the University complies with the general policy of the Government relating to legal education and training. She added; “the visit is on call for resource verification of our law programme. This oversight function of the council is very important for approval of our Law programme. It is not only the National University Commission (NUC) that is saddled with the statutory responsibility of course approval; the Council of Legal Education also plays a significant approval role in Law degree programme in Nigeria.”

The Council of Legal Education is a creation of the Legal Education (Consolidation, Etc) Act, 1976. Under Section 1(2) of this Act, the Council is responsible for the legal education of persons seeking to become members of the legal profession, and it discharges this function through the Nigerian Law School.
