Kenya Kwanza leaders have accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio presidential candidate of plotting to subvert the election.

Led by ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula, the politicians said Uhuru's administration have engaged in interfering with IEBC activities.

They said the arrest of IEBC contractors as they arrived on Thursday was uncalled for and unlawful.

"Uhuru how loyal are you to the Constitution and specifically the democratic process," Mudavadi posed.

He stated that the role of the arrested contractor is sensitive and key to the delivery of a credible election.

“Arrest of the election personnel reminds us of the killing of the head of ICT at the IEBC five years ago,” he stated.

“They now want to go the Musando way, through forcing out of ICT officials information that should enable them to beat computer firewalls,” Mudavadi added.

This is in reaction to the development on Thursday, where three personnel, who are employees of Smartmatic International B.V., were put behind bars upon arrival at JKIA from Venezuela.

Supporting Mudavadi’s statement, Garissa Township Mp Aden Duale further accused the Azimio La Umoja coalition of profiling IEBC Staff and stakeholders in fear of losing in the upcoming polls.

He said their main rivals have panicked and sensed defeat so they are using all mean possible to interfere with the election process.

Duale also claimed that the Raila led coalition has started intimidating and harassing IEBC staff after their push to use manual voting system failed.

“They started with BBI which was a plan to extend the life of Uhuru Kenyatta after his tenure. When the manual plan had failed they have gone further and started profiling the staff of IEBC,” he added.
