Alex Iwobi to join Everton on US tour

Alex Iwobi has been listed among the 32-man Everton squad embarking on a pre-season tour of the United States.

Iwobi was an important part of the Coach Frank Lampard-tutored side that fought toward the end of the last season to beat the relegation water in the English Premier League (EPL).

It was Iwobi’s goal against Newcastle that ignited Everton’s battle for survival and the lone strike by the Nigerian was listed as Everton’s goal of the month in April.

The Lampard and his Everton squad departed yesterday to the US as they prepare for a pair of pre-season friendlies.

The Blues head to the East Coast to play Arsenal on Saturday, July 16 at the 70,000-capacity M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland – home of NFL side Baltimore Ravens.

Iwobi and his teammates will also travel to Minneapolis to take on Toffees legend Adrian Heath’s Minnesota United at their own Allianz Field on Wednesday, July 20.

Iwobi who has been considered an integral member of Everton for the 2022/2023 season left yesterday alongside Allan, Asmir Begovic, Nathan Broadhead, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Seamus Coleman, Billy Crellin,Tom Davies, Dele Alli, Lewis Dobbin, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Ben Godfrey, Andre Gomes, Anthony Gordon, Demarai Gray,Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Zan-Luk Leban, Stanley Mills, Yerry Mina,Vitalii Mykolenko, Niels Nkounkou, Nathan Patterson, Jordan Pickford, Isaac Price, Salomon Rondon, Ellis Simms, James Tarkowski, Andros Townsend, Lewis Warrington and Reece Welch.
