The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, Abia State, Isaac Akimoyede, has charged new police constables to respect the rights of the people.

At a Passing Out Parade ceremony held at the Police Training School, Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, the AIG admonished the 444 constables to exhibit professionalism, justice, loyalty, fairness and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

Akimoyede said that the force would not spare any of them who engaged in any act that did not promote the good image of the security organisation.

The AIG said, “I congratulate the 444 of you that are graduating today and I bring you goodwill messages from the Inspector-General of Police.

“Let me re-emphasise the over bothering importance of security in our society. The newly passed out constables who have undergone thorough all-round training as General Duties Officers for six months, have the total number of 444 recruits, among which 247 are males while 197 are females.

“Let me remind you that this passing out from the training college marks the commencement of a sorjoun in the Nigeria Police Force and I advise you on the ethics of the police career which are discipline, professionalism, loyalty, fairness, justice and integrity. They remain the watch words if you must succeed.”

The Abia State Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem, charged the constables to do the police job with conscience while wearing a human face.
