Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of the Delta house of assembly has knelt down to thank Delta State Governor, Ifeany Okowa for helping him emerge as the Peoples Democratic Party's governorship candidate in the state.
A photo of Oborevwore kneeling at a thanksgiving service has since caused a stir on social media.
Oborevwori polled 590 votes to beat his closest rival, David Edevbie, commissioner for finance during the James Ibori administration, who polled 113 votes.
PDP returning officer, Ndubisi Nwobu announced the results on Wednesday, where he noted that a total of 824 delegates were accredited for the primary.
Shortly after the result was announced, Okowa and Oborevwori attended a thanksgiving service together held at the government house chapel in Asaba, the Delta capital.
Nigerians were shocked to see Oborevwori go down on his knee to thank Okowa for his win.
