FCAH&PT Partners, VHL, OAU to organise Tailor-Made Training

The Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT) Moor Plantation, Ibadan, is set to organise a NUFFIC Tailor-Made Training in collaboration with Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife and Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Science, Netherlands.

In a brief chat with CEOAFRICA, the College Provost, Dr. Owosibo Adekoya, said all is set for the training on the theme “Strengthening capacities for Institutional Staff and Lead Women along the Diary Value Chain in South Western, Nigeria.”

According to him, “The training has been scheduled to hold from 9th to 20th May at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (9th-14th) and Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (15th-20th). It is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through NUFFIC program and co-funded by FCAH&PT and OAU.”

The College Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Owosibo, stated that the program is geared towards strengthening, empowering and equipping the Institutional staff and women involved in the dairy value chain in Nigeria. The Tailor-Made Training will contribute to knowledge, capacity building and skills development of selected members of staff and lead women involved in the dairy value chain in Nigeria.

The training will be conducted by a team of Dutch training provider from Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, Leeuwarden, Netherlands. The team led by Prof. Robert Baars has Jacob Duinstra and Nyasha Ngirande as members. Four local resource persons will join the Dutch team in training participants, they are Prof. O. Olorunnisomo, Prof. O. Ashimolowo, Dr. T. Olugbire and Prof. O. Oseni.

Dr. Bukola Oyebanji, a lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, on behalf of the organising committee disclosed that the opening ceremony of the program will hold at Ajose Lecture Theatre, OAU on the 9th of May, while the closing ceremony will be at the Aeres Training Hall, FCAH&PT on the 20th of May, 2022.

In anticipation of the training, Dr. Owosibo an Animal Scientist, urged the expected participants to look forward to tremendous training sessions. The assessment of the impact of the training on the participants will be focused on improvement in their delivery of duties and growth of the dairy value chain in Nigeria.

Recall that in February, FCAH&PT organised a Tailor-Made Training for stakeholders in Ibadan, Oyo State, which focused on enhancing women’s capacities and ensuring food security through Agribusiness management.
