Photo News: Dominican University holds Talent Hunt show, winners get cash rewards

SATURDAY- 18th December, 2021: Dominican University Ibadan, Students Council held maiden edition of Talent Hunt show (DU Got Talent) and Christmas Concert to mark the end of the calendar year by the institution.

The concert took place on Thursday at the DUI campus ground Samonda Ibadan.

The event was an occasion that thrilled everyone as the Talent Show titled ‘DU Got Talent’ (DGT) had contestants performing in Music, Comedy, Poetry and Dance.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, the Student council Chairman, Vincent Obasi in his opening speech, said the event was spurred by the quest to bring together people of different religions and cultural diversity to become a driving force for solidarity and authentic development.

He said “the preliminary stages of this talent show have been generating massive media awareness of our school and that is basic aim of the event. The live auditioning was explosive and the live show which held on Wednesday was also powerful.

“Today is the grand finale; we have only the best of the best remaining in the show and gunning for the ultimate Price. For us it is not about winning the price, but about discovering the huge deposit of talent in our university and its environs.

“We know that the journey to stardom and fame starts from bringing this great star acts to limelight and we ask that you join us cheer this great talents to stardom.”

He also disclosed that of all the applications and from various parts of the south west and in the university, only 11 contestants made it to the grand finale.

Some of the dignitaries present were the Representative of the Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Dean of Student Affairs, Rev. Fr. Patrick Akunne Rev Fr Dioka O. P, Rev. Fr Felix Oluwesiri, Dr. Nelson Ukwamedua and others.
